The solution had to power a completely renovated building intended for tourist accommodation in the absence of a network connection. It is located on the Island of Elba at 350m above sea level, in a strategic and panoramic position. In the past, it was used as a control point for Italian soldiers during World War II.

Due to its type and intended use, the main system has some important characteristics; it is composed of a photovoltaic system of approximately 19.4kWp, with 71kWh Sirius supercapacitor storage and Victron electronics with three 48V-10kVA inverter/chargers configured in three-phase and four 100A MPPT charge regulators. The system is completed by a backup generator set.

A distribution line backs up a second photovoltaic system, with storage located in a previously built nearby building.
